Headshots
A Bit of Philosophy. . .
Headshots can be awkward—but they don't have to be difficult! As an actor myself, I've had to have many of my own headshots taken, and it's often a clunky, uncomfortable experience.
Shooting new headshots should be EASY!
My philosophy is simple: Your shots should represent you at your best. They should show the people "behind the table" who you are and what you're about. They should be comfortable, clear, and direct. They should tell a little bit of your story—even if you're the only one who knows what the story is.
At the end of the day, your headshot should be YOU.
Inside or Outside?
This one's totally up to you! Outside, we can take advantage of the best light source around — the sun! And of course, what better city to shoot in than New York? Exciting, fun, and 100% unique. Inside, we have complete control over the lights, the look, and the feel.
Or, if you're feeling feisty, why not get the best of both worlds? Shoot inside for an hour to get warmed up, and then jump outside to get a true New York headshot with Ye Olde Package Deal!
But What to Wear?
If you feel good, you'll look good. That's really all there is to it! Regardless of which session you choose, bring a good wardrobe selection so we can pick and choose the things that make you feel great and that show you off the best.
There are, of course, a few guidelines:
- No complex patterns. Simple, broad stripes are ok, but in general, stay away from lots of noisy textures and patterns.
- Nothing plain white. Pretty please.
- Black is OK, but it's not usually the best. Unless you look stunning in your black dress or button-down, it might not be your best option.
Hair and Makeup
Whether you're a stud or a babe, having an extra pair of eyes is always an invaluable addition to a shoot. I work with a number of fantastic stylists and makeup artists, each with their own specialties, so you'll get exactly what you need regardless of your individual needs. You'll look stunning, natural, and—most importantly—like you! And it's all included in the Full Studio Session and Ye Olde Package Deal.
